1954年生於嘉義縣六腳村。自小即展現對於作畫的興趣和天份，大學開始自我摸索油畫繪畫技巧。1980畢業於台灣大學醫學系，任職於台大附設醫院和醫學院，曾在醫學院開設「表演藝術」、「視覺藝術」通識教育課十多年。2009年至2012年，擔任台大醫學院醫學人文館執行秘書，策劃多個醫學人文相關展覽。自2009年開始專注繪畫創作，其作品著重人對自然環境破壞的省思，和社會失去公平正義的批判。並以數十年來行醫生涯的各種觀想，反思生命歷程的意義，用科學與藝術哲學的角度，面對身心靈情健康的人生。作品有著深刻的人文關懷，不斷改變畫風和主題，是這位獨特思想的醫師畫家擁有的個人風格。

請給我一滴水 (Please, A Drop of Water)

小孩雙手高捧著水桶，站在水涸龜裂的土地上，祈望頭頂上的水龍頭有他卑微的要求。畫面所見由近而遠，各式各樣不論是復古、現代、昂貴抑是平價的水龍頭，參差面向四方佔著一席之地，但水不再流出；或許只剩海市蜃樓般的水氣。耗盡了後代子孫賴以生存的種種。
On a cracked dry land stands a child who is holding a water bucket and begging for water under a giant faucet. Numerous faucet could be seen across the horizon, from near and far, but no water is coming out from any of them. As human continue to overexploit water resources, all that is left would be water mirage in the desert.
以宗教之名 (In The Name of Church)

這是四幅油畫系列“戰爭與和平“的其中一幅（其他各是：華麗的戰爭、隱藏的記憶、阿茲提克的滅亡）。人類的歷史戰火延綿，打戰的理由永遠不符合正義原則。西方更是打著宗教的旗幟掠奪土地和財富。常言「天地不仁，以人為芻狗」，人是健忘的，所以不斷的重演悲劇。和平其實不遠，就在侵略者的眼前。
This work is one of the four paintings in the “War and Peace” series (the other three are A Resplendent War, The Hidden Memories, and The Fall of Azetec). The images in the painting underscores the cruelty and misery inflicted by war and its unjustifiable nature. History repeats itself and we never detect the resemblance until the damage is done. On the flip side, peace is just within the grasp of the ones who started the war.
